Used this video to disconnect the CMOS battery for 20 minutes on my T520. I have to agree with the other comment that (on the T520 at least) the battery is under the keyboard. It's not necessary to unsnap the entire palm rest. Unfortunately, disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes still didn't reset the BIOS supervisor password. 🙁
the E535 the BIOS battery is easily replaced by removing 1 panel! when the battery is replaced, do the BIOS settings go back to factory default? thanks

If your laptop is functional prior to disconnecting the battery…
If it turns out your laptop IS supervisor password locked, then the laptop will not boot past the password screen. The laptop will detect a date / time error and wants you to go into the BIOS to set them. However, you can't because the system is password protected. 🙁
Now HAD a functional laptop, but no longer. Beware.
