This is our review of the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. It has quite a few new features including the gorilla glass protected contextual function row. It really has all the hallmarks of an excellent business oriented ultrabook.

6:01 i wonder where Is Apple stealing ideas… To make them "inovative" 😂😂
I'm watching this video because I bought a Lenovo X1 Carbon laptop on eBay, and I miss this channel.

Meh Lenovo blatantly ripping far superior MacBook pros touchbar and came up with something uglier. So not original.
so we just ignore that he wear a shirts with ASUS logo while reviewing LENOVO.
top 10 anime betrayals

Bring back the ncix to Linus
touchbar 2 years before apple
echem echem. My t570 meets the ultrabook standard, but is has got 3 usb 3 ports, full size ethernet, full size hdmi, a usb-c/tunderbolt 3 combo connector and an sd card reader
Yet to see apple fanboy screaming for that "touchbar"
Currently using this…… can i play games on this laptop ?
your "there is no thin" is really a big one 😀

I'm out.
Haha awesome entertaining presenter & reviewer!
instead of a proper row of keys, we get this bullshit LED strip? no, hell fucking no. this is a business laptop, don't fuck around with that shit.
does the palmrest and body scratch easily?
Thinkpad is superior 😀
that's a good one
I assume its normal for the "Ultrabooks" to not come with any way to add a multi-media drive other than using an external one, just like a netbook? I guess really the multi-media drives anymore just aren't used very much because of all the other storage media (i.e. USB Flash Drives, external hard drives, etc).
I'm looking at a Lenovo Thinkpad, but not the Carbon, I want a regular laptop…I don't care if it weighs a bit more….I just don't want another brick like my old Alienware 17" laptop was LOL. From what I've seen and read the Lenovo Thinkpads are pretty descent laptops…looking at a T-series just haven't decided for sure its mostly going to be an office/home-office laptop no games so I don't need an expensive laptop…even looking at the used & off lease market.
Linus – funny and informative. Way to go, dude!
doesnt have a backlit keyboard????
This pc works with digitizer ?
Great review tnx! I am in the market for an ultrabook and i am between this laptop and Asus Zenbook UX301LA which has about the same specs but i can't decide. Which one u suggest me?? Thanks!
so obnoxious.
it is my favorite Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon
how do you write in caps?
You may be able to drop that notebook from a forklift and not break anything but if Linus keeps flipping that machine around one of the wires in the power cord will break.
We bought 90 of these, so far 9 out of the 30 we have deployed have gone bad, all have hardware defects.
Can the memory and SSD be upgraded?
The red button in the middle is a mouse
Can i game on it?
"nipple"
giggle
Perfect ultrabook. Gets one in 2 weeks 😉
This is by far an ultrabook, I'd fall in love with… However I would still wait for next year 🙂 I am hoping for two features to appear. One of course is the customizable function keys. I only use F1, F5 and volume and brightness controls. I use specific shortcuts on specific programs that I would like the system to choose those shortcuts automatically.
For an example if I am using NetBeans (for Java development), I would like to use a shortcut that represents a keyboard compilation of ctrl+k+f for an example to do something. It would be cool If I can put the icon for that shortcut as well (I am greedy :-D)
I hope that there would be a future version in which the screen actually swivels as many of older versions of Thinkpads. This would solve my ultimate Laptop, Tablet dilemma (Yes, I have no problems with a 14" tablet) 😀
And give me my damn pen back 🙂
Hey Linus, you and Lisa Gabe seem to have two very different opinions on the screen. I really want a high-res screen that "pops" but she says it's dull and murky I've been watching your videos for years and trust you but she also seems to be a bit of a Thinkpad enthusiast so the contrasting opinions concern me.
Would you say compared to a Mac Book with Retina this display still holds it's ground?
best ultraabook? nah after the lenovo yoga 2 pro im not buying from lenovo anymore, that laptop sucked and temps were too damn high, ill stick with my sager p150sm a >D
no capslk, does it inconvenient to put capitalization?
